Moving On Up
Rep. Lincoln Davis (D-TN) will get a seat on the all-powerful House Appropriations Committee in the next Congress. Will that peach assignment keep him in the House and out of the governor’s race in 2010? If Frist gets in (and he will), I bet Davis stays out.

I think his running for Governor depends less on Frist and more on Ford.
But there's another issue that may be factoring into his decision, one that I'm wondering about. If the Republicans win in 2010, then Davis will almost certainly be gerrymandered out of Congress anyway. Running for Governor, even if he loses, at least gives him a chance to get out on his own terms.
